Byron Bay Surveying is a commercial, residential and land surveying company based in Northern Rivers, New South Wales, Australia.

The brief was to create a new brand identity for a start up company and create something unique with the company name, a brand mark that was completely different from the typical “Blue collar” branding of a surveyor on a tripod! The brand colours also needed a point of difference, shifting away from the generic blue and orange, which are used excessively by competitors.

After several concepts the final result was a brand mark that represented “land” - the foundation of surveying. Taking the idea of Topography, several abstract line drawings combined simulated the idea of surveying effectively enough to be a recognizable in industry and to customers. Using a deep rich green for the primary brand colour has created a unique point of difference from competitors locally and nationally, allowing the business to really stand out boldly, it also does not stray away from the industrial and residential clients using a colour that relates to the land.

The company utilizes modern technology such as drones and 3D scanning, so the typeface reflects this tech side to the company practice but also retains customer focus by looking friendly and approachable.

The brand mark is a future proof design that allows future growth should the business need to change name or grow further nationally.

The identity is unique, own-able and allows the opportunity to produce a variety of different types of creative assets to use for marketing collateral and for their brand assets e.g. business cards, uniform and car wrap.
