Based in Byron Bay, DFJ (Dominic Finlay-Jones) architects is an award winning firm that operates in Northern New South Wales. They are well integrated in the Byron shire and have worked on many well known building projects in the Northern Rivers. The brief was to refresh their old website, which was hosted on Squarespace with a generic grid layout. They needed something a little more refreshing, a new site that reflected there ethos of sustainability. The sitemap and page content recommendations were created from creating a SEO and UX audit of the previous site and the idea was to create an easy to use site that the team could update.
I created wireframes in low fidelity and high fidelity. The site design was then handed over for development. The final design was modern and refreshing approach using a broken grid layout. DFJ had no branding as such, but we wanted to reflect a more sustainable look and feel.
