Logo Design & Beta Launch Campaign

 

Like any start up launching a product for the first time, this brand needed a bit of "kick" to start growing a database of customers. Whilst designing/ improving features of the App, I created a storyboard for a video promo and created an investor presentation for an initial launch of Sportkix at Versace on Gold Coast. The brief I assigned myself was to get their attention, to make them feel excited and interest in the app, but to also make it feel "sporty".

Alongside the video storyboard concept and artwork, I created print material that is consistent with the video style for the event and a campaign aimed at an Indian and Australian market. This was to encourage registration sign up through a prize draw entry as well as Facebook "likes" for our Sportkix Beta page.

 
 

Logo design for a new exciting sports app for a startup, the product was non existent, no research or goals for the product. My first brief was to create a logo for a sports gaming and data app where sport fans could go and get in depth data on matches or other specific sports. With several brand names thrown about, which were all taken , we landed on the name Sportkix.

Generating ideas for the logo meant researching into current sport brands, betting brands, and sport news brands, as well as consideration of the placement of the logo within the App product itself. I wanted to create a logo that would pop out from the crowd with a colour we could own in the sport data/news industry, using masculine clean font to appeal to the sport news market. The data driven idea of the app product, made me create a clean logo that looks professional rather than the typical Sport slab font. Sportkix was focused on being only an App based product, so I tried to future proof the idea of Sportkix currency "kix coins" and "kix" as a form of gamification within the logo, getting instant notifications on news, scores, data, results and awards to your mobile device. The "kix" element of the logo was placed inside a notification type speech bubble to represent that idea.

The identity process was successful with all stakeholders to get the start-up company up and running.
